Please Join us at our annual fall fundraiser!
A time to Reflect on success
And learn about our important work ahead for Minnesota's most vulnerable children
We are a non-profit, advocacy organization comprised chiefly of volunteers who are working to improve the lives of children in child protection and foster care by reforming the child welfare system in Minnesota.
Please join us for our annual fundraising breakfast on Wednesday, October 18th at the Woulfe Hall in the Anderson Student Center at St. Thomas University. Registration starts at 7:30am, the program will start at 8:00am and end at 9:00am, and the breakfast is complimentary.
At the breakfast, you will hear about exciting progress that has been made in the past year to protect children in Minnesota and how Safe Passage, with our volunteer child advocates, will continue to work to improve the lives of victims of abuse and neglect in the future. Featured speakers for the event will be Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, and Vivian Jenkins Nelsen, founder of the African American Working Group on Child Protection and longtime adviser to Safe Passage for Children. In addition the program will feature a live interview by KSTP reporter Katherine Johnson of 13-year old McKenna Ahrenholz, who was the inspiration for McKenna’s Law, passed this year by the Minnesota legislature. The law ensures legal representation for children in the child protection system who are 10 and older.
The event itself is free. There will be a request for donations at the end of the program. Please contribute whatever you feel is appropriate and are able to give.
